GMS Splash Into Science FL Trip
Even years, Greendale Middle School students have the opportunity to travel to the Florida Keys for an exciting 5 day, 4 night adventure to gain an appreciation for science and the importance of ecosystems. Students will identify tropical fish and coral while snorkeling with friends, swim with dolphins and learn about their behavior and anatomy, kayak through the mangroves, discover methods researchers and vets are using to help preserve sea turtles & their environment. Students sign up the year before travel, as 6th or 7th graders. Travel for 2020 will be Oct. 21-25, 2020.
Trip highlights: Swim with dolphins, kayak the mangroves, Sea Turtle hospital, invertebrates touch tank & dissection, netting at Curry Hammock State Park, beach snorkel at John Pennekamp State Park, coral reef snorkel at America's first underwater park, tram ride thru Everglades National Park & night hike.
